Update on the first few days at home

Sorry I haven't really told you much details to our new life.

Sunday:
Ryan, Payne, and I just hung out Sunday. We had to no plans except for some visitors to come by. Payne slept pretty good the first night. We figured out he doesn't like to be cold what so ever and likes to be swaddled up in his blanket. Ryan ran to Target for a few things and my Aunt Karen and cousin Lauren came by. Then my sister and Rachie and Blake drop by as well. Then we decided we wanted to go on a walk. It was really hot so it only lasted about 20 minutes. Payne slept the whole time. Surprise, Surprise!

He also sucks on his hand a lot too. I would give him a passy, but Ryan said no.

Monday:
Since Payne had slept pretty good I decided I would go get my nails done and run by Hobby Lobby in between feedings. Ryan stayed home with Payne, but he said he slept in his crib the whole time. We also learned that he really likes his swing. He loves to look at the mobile when he is awake or he just sleeps for hours in there. Before I went to get my nails done we gave him is first sponge bath at home. He wasn't very happy about it. Monday night it was a little bit cooler so we went on another walk. I am still having a lot of back pain so, the walks aren't getting to last very long.

We are trying to learn to call the hogs. We are planning on tailgating next weekend!

Tuesday:
The night was a rough one. He didn't sleep well, due to his short feedings I believe. As well, as the diapers changed from thick tar to running yucky mess! Therefore when I picked him up out of the bassinet at 6am his diaper had leaked everywhere!!!! So we put him in our bed to change him and he peed all in our bed. Therefore, I meant everyone was up for the day at 6am! We also tried the passy, and he took it for a little bit. Ryan is still telling me only at night. Ryan then decided to get ready and run to Wal-Mart and get our food, while Payne and I slept. Then I got up and got ready and we headed out around 10 to go to Target, the doctor, Glo, and to turn in insurance papers. Payne did really well. I was so glad. He only screamed at the doctor because he was hungry and we took care of that and all was good.

On our way out to run errands.

Last night we also had tummy time. He wasn't so sure about that idea.

All wrapped up for bed time. This is the way we sleep all the time.

The doctor said that he now weighs 7.5 pounds, so he had lost a little, but everything else was looking good. We go back again next week. She also told me I could begin to pump, so I was really excited, because I was really sore. It wasn't an hour later I was pumping and feeling much much better!! Payne had a bottle at his 3pm feeding and took it like a champ! I was so excited!

Wednesday:
The night was good, he didn't scream. He is just awake for about 30-45 minutes after a feeding so that is hard because he wants you to hold him. We are planning on trying bottles tonight since he can eat those a lot faster and maybe it will cut down in the time we are both awake at night.
Since I was now pumping Ryan feed Payne a bottle this morning. Ryan did so good and so did Payne.
Today is my co-teachers birthday so I ran by the school to take her presents and the kids cookies. It was so fun to see everyone. One of my kids from last year told me I was skinny again! I laughed! Then I picked Ryan up lunch from his favorite spot, Stone Mill, and headed back home. Now, its Ryan's turn to go out and run his errands.

Here is the little booger swinging away!

Gotta love that swing. Trevor loves sleeping in his. Sounds like you guys are adjusting well, its hard to do with your first. Tell Ryan to give up on the paci, if he likes it...go for it! Otherwise he'll end up sucking his thumb and that's worse (take it from a dental hygienist). He's gonna hate me. :)

Look, as a parent, it is a love/hate relationship with the paci! Glad you guys are doing well. If you are starting to go crazy or feel like you are overwhelmed--just get out of the house...it is like magic!

Lisa - Its not that I'm against the paci, but only at night or while sleeping. I just don't want him to become dependent on it! "I Ain't Mad At Cha"

Congratulations!! He is absolutely precious! I am just now getting to check your blog and see his pictures (I've been out of town for over a week). But he is adorable and I'm so happy you all are doing well!
