New York City Part 1

So, for 10 months we had plans to go to New York City to watch my dad run in the New York Marathon. Well, as we boarded the plane to leave we received a phone call from a friend telling us that the marathon was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy.  Bummer.... We had already planned on staying extra days because Ryan had never been and we were also just going to make a small vacation of it.
We arrived late Friday night with a minor delay due to some mechanical things, nothing to due with the hurricane damage. We arrived to the hotel with no issues, until dad told me the wrong hotel room! We knocked and well they didn't speak English!
Saturday morning we got up early headed out for a long day. We stop and had breakfast in a little cafe by the hotel. After lunch, we went straight to H and M! We shopped for a while, then we to see Rockefeller Center, went to the top of Top of the Rock to see the views of NYC and then we walked around NYC for a while, got some lunch in a deli, and headed to the Empire State Building. We also went down to Times Square to check out the action. Then we headed home stopping at Grand Central Station on the way back to the hotel. Ryan and I went to dinner that night at a restaurant by the ice skating rink in Rockefeller Center.
Sunday was supposed to be the race and Ryan and I had planned to ride bikes through Central Park, but since the race was canceled some of the runners decided to run in the park together. Dad didn't choose to do this, but it also didn't allow us to bike through the park because of the amount of people. We still had a great time walking through the park. We ended up on the other side and visited some museums  and grabbed lunch and then walked back through and home.  I think we walked about 11 miles that day!

Halloween 2012

This year for Halloween Payne went as a construction worker.
We didn't buy anything new. We used things we already had, because I knew he wouldn't last long. We went to back 5 houses and then back home.

His favorite part was eating the candy while walking.
Brody, Jillian, Caroline, and Payne! Sweet little ones! I can't believe how fast they are growing up!

Family Golf Outing

Ryan wanted Payne and I to go with him to play golf one Sunday afternoon. It was a pretty day, but then the wind started blowing and it got a little cold. We had so much fun though, there were not very many people out so we were able to take our time.

Payne loved getting out of the cart and walking to the green to help Ryan pick up the ball after it went into the hole.

He wanted to carry his club around like his daddy.
I thought I would get in on the action too. You can tell I was really prepared by my shoes.
The three of us had so much fun!
After golf we went by the airpirt to watch the planes take off and land because Payne loves them. He thought it was the greatest thing ever!!
These pictures were taken about a year part! I can't believe he is growing up so fast.

Payne's 2nd Birthday Pictures/Family Pictures!

I know I have said it many times before, but I couldn't be more thankful for Meredith Curtis! I love that she is so patient with my family to take our pictures! I absolutely love the pictures! She captured Payne's personality right now!

Payne's Construction Party Details

The front door. I wrapped an extension cord around the straw wreath. I got a 2 from Hobby Lobby and covered in scrapbook paper.  Really simple!
The table! We had lots of left over cement blocks from building the play set that I use for make the cupcakes higher. We used all the trucks and construction toys to decorate the others tables as well.

For the favors I made soap that was in the shape of trucks and tractors for the kids to go home and take a bath with!

Pink Milk

This summer we hung out with Brody and Jillian. Jillian "drinks pink milk" and so Payne thinks he needs to drink this "pink milk"! Really it is milk in a pink sippy cup! Payne seems to think that is the only way to go though. So we are trying for some other colors of milk. Yet he without fail will tell you something is pink or yellow! Oh, well! It is really funny though. We sent this video to Jillian a while back, but I thought I would share!

1st Day of School

This year was a little different in the start to the school year. I was starting a new job, in a new grade as well. Of course my kids are awesome! And it was Payne's 2nd birthday! I have moved from teaching at a private school where there were 36 kids in 3rd grade and I had to collborate with one other teacher, to a public school where there are five 4th grade teachers and a 125 kids in the grade!
I work on a team with in the 4th grade team of 3 teachers. I have my homeroom in the morning and then teach them Math, then we head to recess, then my class goes down the hall for Writing and Content and I teach another Math class, lunch and planning then the kids come back and my homeroom goes to Reading and I teach other class of Math. At the end of the day I teach my homeroom Word Study. If you could keep up with all of that, congrats most people are so confussed.  Really all I do is teach Math three times  to 75 kids and Word Study once. It is a lot different and I am learning so much, but I am absoultly loving it!
Payne and Ryan waved me off and wished me good luck on my first day!

Also, like I said it was Payne's birthday on the 1st day of school which was hard for because I wanted to spend the day with him, but that didn't happen. We were able to have a some friends over for birthday cake that evening and it turned into a great night.

Happy 2nd Birthday Payne!

Payne's Birthday Party

Payne turned 2 a few weeks ago. We had his party the weekend before his birthday! Which was also the weekend before I started school. We kept things real simple. We got some play sand from Lowe's and put it in the baby pool. We had lots of trucks from the beach that I had gotten at Target for a $1, that we put in there. We brought the tool bench outside, and then we also had the sand and water table. The kids also played on the big play set in our backyard. For food we had chips, pretzels, chocolate covered raisins, and cupcakes.

He loved his "tuptake" and blowing out his candle!!
Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Boy!!!

On his actual birthday, when I went to wake him up! He yelled "tuptake!!!" when I told him Happy Birthday!
