Home again home again....

Well, today I sat at home bored. It was too cold to do anything and we were out of school again. Therefore, I have nothing to say on the blog tonight. I did go to cheerleading practice tonight and only had two girls come. But, they are so fun it didn't matter anyways. We had a blast playing and cheering. Now we are headed to watch the Championship game with some friends at the Yerton's house. Hope you are staying warm tonight and we are going back to school tomorrow. Can't we call school for it being TOOOOO COLD!?!

Presents and Cold Weather

Over the course of December I was asked by many people what kinds of gift are given to teachers. Well, I am going to answer that for you.

One of my favorite thing I got was my new notepads and the holder. I think I liked this one a lot because it had my new name on it.

Another thing that was really popular this year was gift cards. I received gift cards to Stone Mill, Pesto, Mason's, Visa GC and Bordino's. Also another popular thing was scarves. I received three. Here are pictures of two of them. The other one is black and fades into gray.

I also got hot chocolate mix and cups, cookies and a teacher sign, a Christmas tin full of popcorn, a Christmas notepad, chocolate, M and M's, apple bread mix, a reed diffuser, lotion, a magnet and a poinsettia.
Though what my favorite part of it all was just getting their family Christmas cards. I loved them. They are all hanging in my classroom and I don't plan on taking them down anytime soon.
I think that teachers appreciate whatever you give them. They are happy to just have the student's in their classroom. Thanks to all my students who gave me something. I love it all!

Fayetteville Weather!
Well....

ITS COLD!!!
This is what I saw on the 6 o'clock news. Check out Saturday's low! -5
I am sorry, but I don't do that kind of weather. I live in Arkansas, not Antarctica.
We are still waiting to hear about school tomorrow. I have made lessons plans either way it goes. I would love to sleep in, but man I miss those kids when I am not with them. We'll see how it goes.

First Day Back

Well, our first day back was a success. The students were excited to see me (which makes me feel good) and excited to see each other! They had so much to talk about and could not contain themselves. Other than that it was uneventful. They did ask a million times if we were going to have to come to school the rest of the week. I have been watching the weather. The only thing I ask is we don't get to school on Thursday and then they cancel. I DON"T drive in the snow or ice.

Tonight we went to the basketball game with our friends Adam and Heather. We always have so much fun with them. We played well the first half and went into half-time tied 48-48. Though, we didn't end well losing 85-96.

Ryan and I when we still had a chance to win.

Hope all of you are having a great week. We will see what the weather has to bring tomorrow night!

Breaks not over yet!

Sunday night it was still misting and snowing a little and very cold so, school was canceled. This on any other week would have been great but, at this point I am ready to go back and see my kids! Since I was off today I went to Ryan's office and worked on the retail store for scrubs. I think it can officially open for business now. It is still in working progress though, it is organized enough and has enough inventory to open.

Our fasting is still in progress. It is a lot harder than I thought. For dinner last night I had crackers with tomato sauce and garlic, an apple and some blueberries. Ryan had a bowl of brown rice and soy sauce and an orange. Breakfast this morning was hard too. We both had plain oatmeal with cinnamon in it. Not very good. For snack I had a banana. Lunch for me was whole grain noodles with tomato sauce and garlic and crackers. Ryan had fruit. By the time we got home from work we were both starving. I had two small baked potatoes with salt, pepper, and soy sauce with a tomato. Ryan had a rice with soy and steamed broccoli.

I am excited to get back into the swing of things tomorrow. I am sure parents are as well.

Babysitting and 21 Days

Last night we watched the Razorback barely pull off a win at the Liberty Bowl. We stayed home and one of Ryan's friends, Stretch, came over to watch it with us. We also had another little one to watch it with us too, Nelson. He had played outside with Lucy all day so he was super tired and in need of cuddle time. I was sitting in front of the fire last night and he came in crawled in my lap and went to sleep. I liked it!! He never does that anymore!! Then he laid with me on the couch.

We woke up this morning to a blanket of snow. It snowed here over Christmas but, we were in Little Rock so we missed it. So, this morning I took a picture of our house in the snow. Then we headed to church.
Our church is starting 21 days today at sundown.

Originally, when we were at church Ryan and I decided to fast from certain things. I chose to fast from coke and Ryan decided to fast from Internet at home. After lunch with the Francis' and the Jones' we came home and decided we would also do the Daniel 1 fast. ( We are going to be out of town for the 2 of the weekends so we will stop and resume accordingly.) After Ryan researched we discovered that we could only eat fruits, veggies, and whole wheats. He looked up several recipes for ideas of what we could eat and ways to make it different. After A and B came to pick up Nelson we headed to Wal-Mart to get things. Here is what we came up with.

Our refrigerated fruits and veggies

Our other fruits and veggies

Our whole wheat products

This is going to be a time of growing for Ryan and I. Please pray for all the people at church who are participating in different types of fasting and us during these next 21 days.

A week off together!

Well Ryan and I have enjoyed having the week off together with not much to do. I thought we would be bored by the time Monday rolled back around and well I was right! Sunday night Ryan told me of all the plans he had for the house. We needed to clean all out closets, put away the Christmas stuff in the attic, and clean the kitchen junk drawer. I thought that would take all week. Also, Ryan was going to have a cyst taken off of this back.

Monday started off nice and early. We had a doctors appointment at 10. We went hoping that he would get the cyst taken off at the first of the week. We had no luck. Dr. A said a surgeon would have to do that. The appointment was scheduled for 3:45 Tuesday. So we went on our way to accomplish our goals of the week. We went to Wal-Mart and bought our weekly food. Then, we went to have lunch with Ali and Bax at B and B BBQ, so I could eat those fried pickles I had been craving. Then to pick up our New Year's cards and to get wedding pictures printed. We then came home to address the cards and off again to get them mailed. We picked up the pictures, put Christmas money in the bank, went to the post office, went furniture shopping, and went to Target. At Target I got some things to help organize the closets and Ryan thought I was crazy. We got home in time for Ryan to cook dinner. He made fajita chili while I organized. I had it all done by the time dinner was ready. I felt very proud! After dinner we knocked out the junk drawer. After all was done we headed to bed at 11! That is late for me, even when I don't have to work the next day.

Here is my china closet door.

Tuesday we got up and made breakfast on our new griddle that Allison and Baxter gave us for Christmas. We had hash browns and scrambled eggs. They were so good. After breakfast I went to Cheerleading practice and Ryan went to check on things at work. We both got home around lunch and put away the Christmas things and head to the doctor again. No luck again. We would have to come back Wednesday morning for the actual surgery. So, with that news we went shopping some more.
Wednesday we got up headed back to see Dr. B and get rid of this cyst, finally!!!

Ryan waiting on Dr. B to come in. He told me I could stay and watch but....well, I would have passed out. The cyst before it was removed. Afterwards, it had a huge bandage on it and he couldn't shower for 48 hours.
Here is what it look like now. It still makes me sick to my stomach.

Now, the exciting part of the week! We have done NOTHING! We came home afterwards for Ryan to rest. We finally went to Sonic at 3:30 and then I went out with some girls that night.

Thursday we got up about 10 and I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Then we just laid around the house until about 7 when we got ready to go to Bordino's for New Year's Eve dinner.

Don't worry we were home at 11:30 to ring in the New Year at home in bed!

Friday morning I got up at 11 to get ready for our house guest of the weekend. Allison and Baxter brought Nelson over to spend the weekend with us since they were headed to the Liberty Bowl. I miss Nelson since he spent a year living with me. He follows me around the house and sits next to me and I feel really loved!!! Here is what we did all day! How I love to be lazy!!!
Nelson is hard to see since he is black.

Well this morning we were up at 5 with a little black dog wiggling everywhere because he had to go to the bathroom. So Ryan took him out and then they came back to bed. At about 6:30 Nelson was done sleeping. So he thinks you should get up too. Little did he know the Green's sleep in. So, we put both dogs outside about 6:30 to play all they wanted. Back to bed for us. SURPRISE! 8:30 here come Nelson jumping on us again. Ryan and I both looked at each other to figure who had let the dogs back in. Neither one of us had! We forgot that Nelson can open our backdoor and he had let himself back in. So, we finally got up! Nelson is a really smart dog in case you were wondering. Now, the dogs are back outside having the time of their lives running and playing and Ryan and I are being lazy laying on the couch!

Lucy and Nelson taking a break from playing!

We have watched the Razorback basketball team play now we are waiting on the football game to come on! Go Hogs!
