Heart Ball 2010

The American Heart Association hosts the Heart Ball every year! The tradition is that around 50 girls that are in 10th grade are presented at the ball and recognized for their community service. Back in 2002 I was one of those girls and in 2006 my step-sister was one as well. Every year since then we try to go to the ball. I don't know actually how many of the last 8 we have been to but I would guess 5 or 6. I love it!
Over the weekend Ryan and I attended the ball with my dad, Tracey, Debbie, Randy, Rae-Marie, and her boyfriend Patton. It was a lot of fun to get dressed up and have a night out.

Ultrasound and the Sex of the Baby!

We were luckily enough this weekend to get to have an ultrasound in Little Rock with one of my mom's friends! I was so nervous going into it, yet so excited!
We never dreamed that we would find out what we were having. I was thinking that we would just see the baby and it wouldn't move all that much! Well, I was wrong!! It was so cool! I loved it!
I laughed so hard when we first got there because she told me to lay on the bed. I felt like a patient on Grey's. Ryan's parents were both there, my mom, Ryan, and the lady doing to ultrasound April. Everyone was staring at me!
With in the first few seconds of seeing the baby on the screen my mom (who used to do ultrasounds) and April knew the sex of the baby!!!!
Then they ignored the fact that they said they knew an kept calling the baby a he. So, I had to know now! I wanted to see what it was!

It's a BOY!!!!!!

It was a clear as day! We could all tell it was a boy! Ryan is so excited! He could hardly contain himself! I can't believe we already know what we are having! We are so so so excited! One of my favorite parts of getting to see him for the first time was that he had hiccups and was jumping all over the place.
OK I am sure you are ready to see the pictures!

The tummy on the left and the head! His hand is on his face. If you look closely you can see see his legs and feet on the left side of the screen.

He is really long. You can see his spine bone in this picture. Also, he is sucking his thumb.
Ryan and I afterwards.

There you have it! Our little boy! Jackson Payne!

Good Samaritan

So on Wednesday morning we woke up to find a beat up Honda on our street in front of one of the houses for sale. It stayed there all day and night and was still there when I got home from school day. So, I decided to call the Fayetteville Police to report an abandon car. It has no plates and nothing on the inside. I was think it would be several days before it would go away.
About 45 minutes after I got off the phone with the police they were here. They looked around the car and then they got in the car and started looking around.

Then they opened the trunk and started to look around in there.

Then the police officer and his friend dressed in street clothes just sat down on the hood of the police car. UMMMM... I wondered what they were doing. Well, if you know me, I went to ask.
I walked up to them and introduced myself and told them the story. They asked when it appear and if I had heard anything. I knew it was there Wednesday morning and never heard a thing. Then he said well, aren't you the good samaritan. I thought he was being sarcastic. Then he told me it was STOLEN CAR! At that point I got really excited! I had solve a crime!
Then after talking to them for a while I realized that it wasn't so cool, that I had car thieves on my street! CREEPY!
Then they came and towed it away!

That is all the excitement we have going on here!

What's in a Name?

Now that our dream of having a child is on its way to coming true, lets discuss names! Most would think, holy cow - it's a little early to ponder names. This is something Sarah and I discussed and agreed upon before we were even engaged. We have four names, 2 boys and 2 girls. I will start with the boys names, that is what I really want and I am writing this blog!

Boys:
If we are blessed enough to get a boy his name will be Jackson Payne Green. I have always liked the name Jackson starting in high school (even though it is becoming ever more popular), and Payne Stewart is my favorite golfer so this will be in his honor. We plan on calling him "Payne."

If indeed we have multiple boys, the second will be named Christopher Layton. Christopher is my middle name so we will pass that name on, it means "Christ-bearer" or "anointed one.", Sarah and I both like Layton but we do argue over how to spell it so I have given in (men - pick and choose your battles). We will call him "Layton" or "Leighton" - do you have a vote?

Girls:
If our first is a girl the name will be Addyson Marie. Addyson because we both like it and is very similar to my sisters name, Allison. Marie is going to be carried on as a middle name in the family as is has been passed down through the Maulden family at several levels - Sarah's mom's middle name, her stepmom's middle name, her step-sisters middle name, her first cousins middle name. So if we ever get a girl she will carry the torch. She will go by "Addyson".

We had a second girls name but Sarah has become indecisive, started as Ryley and Leigh - some form of Leigh/Lee is my sister and mothers middle name, respectively, so we would like to also keep this one in the family. Sarah has now decided that Ryley will not be the second girls name. She is now trying to decide, with my input, on a couple others (this could take some time which we should have): Brooklyn and Jillian.

Now this does not mean we will have four children, we may if that is what God has in store for our family. I hope to never have more children than parents who can control them - but obviously my plans don't always pan out the way I have them drawn up. Ask God, Sarah, and my family: Baby G wasn't supposed to come this early on in the playbook. But hey, HE is on the way and I am loving every minute of it!

Much love and support in our month to come!

The BIG News

Well, for the past 4 and half weeks I have kept one of the biggest secrets of my life! Ok...well, I haven't been that great at keeping the secret.

Ryan and I are going to have a baby!!!!!!

Went two weeks ago and had the insurance meeting and then went back yesterday to meet with Dr. S. We got to hear the heartbeat of our baby. It was 160 bpm. It was so sweet. I was so nervous - I just laughed the entire time. Then Dr. S asked if I had any questions for her which I did, but I was so caught up in the moment I couldn't remember a thing. We are so excited we don't really know what to do.

To recap the past four weeks of trying to hold it in.

Ryan and I were going to Eureka Springs for our annual trip in January, but the weekend before we had a feeling something wasn't right and we needed to figure it out before we went away for the weekend. So we agreed that I would get a test on Monday afternoon and take it at home. I was so nervous/excited all day Monday. I text Ryan all day. We discussed all the reasons we thought I was pregnant. I had been craving random food, my boobs were hurting, no period, I was moody, and many more. Then it came to the reasons I wasn't and well there were none. So, after the longest staff meeting of my life I ran to the car and went to Walgreen's and got the test. (Two because I wanted to be sure.) I got home and took the test by myself. I probably read the directions three times to make sure I did it correctly. I did what you are supposed to do and then waited and waited and waited. Finally, it said Pregnant. I had to take a deep breathe and then I smiled really big. Then I started thinking of how I was going to tell Ryan, my mom, my dad, Ryan's parents, everyone! What do you say? How can I make this fun? I didn't really have much time to think about it for Ryan. He would be home any minute. Well ,needless to say no creativity came about. He walked in and I was sitting on the couch and I just handed him the test. He was excited, nervous, or more or less SHOCKED!

I will post more later on how we told everyone else and pictures. Now that I am pregnant I have to go to bed early. Ok, who am I kidding I always went to bed early, now I just have a reason! :)

Long Time...

I know I have blogged in a really long time. There just has been so much going on. We have been to our yearly Eureka Springs trip with Allison, Baxter, and Mare. Then the next weekend we went to Branson for the Marriage Retreat with our church. I didn't not take a single picture at either place. I am so sad, but there was no time for that. Then since school has started back we have missed 4 days of school due to the weather. This weekend we got ice and lots of snow! I don't have pictures of that either. I am hoping to go back to school tomorrow. I am taking my Praxis III tomorrow so keep me in your prayers!

In the coming weeks probably around Valentine's day I will return with some exciting news! So check back then! Hope everyone is having a good 2010 so far.
