It was a great long weekend! My mom came up on Friday. We went to eat at Noodles which is always good and then to get a snow cone. My mom and I used to get at least one if not two snow cones a day when I was a kid, so it was fun to go back with her. Saturday morning we ate breakfast and went to the farmer's market for a while. We got some veggies for dinner that night. We came home and got ready and went shopping. It was a fun day spending time with my mommy!! Saturday night we cooked dinner at home and sat on the deck and ate. Sunday morning she headed home! Thanks mom for the great weekend! Ryan and I went to church and then went to eat lunch with Adam and Heather. We enjoy spending time with them and can't wait until next weekend when they become our neighbors!!!! We are so excited!! That afternoon Ryan went to watch Timmy play in a tourney and I stayed home and slept since I didn't sleep well the night before. Then that night we went to Leigh and Tim's for dinner. I enjoy lazy evenings with friends. Monday we laid low, Ryan played golf and then we went to the pool! While my mom was here we drove around the neighborhoods and she pointed out how many of out friends live so close to us. We are so blessed! Its back to work tomorrow to finish up the school year! Crazy!
Ryan turned 27 on Wednesday! We have been so busy that we just celebrated last night! Though he has celebrated all week! His office got him a cake on Monday, gave him candy and a gift card on Tuesday, and brought him breakfast Chick-fil-a on Wednesday morning. Then Wednesday morning he opened his gift from me. I got him an edger for the yard. That night bible study had gotten him a cake, and then Thursday night we went to dinner with some friends and we had a cookie cake. Here are a few pictures from the celebrations. Happy Birthday Ryan! I hope you had a great birthday week!!! I love you!
I didn't think we were doing anniversary gifts, but Ryan had other ideas! When I got home Monday Ryan had gotten me my favorite flowers and ordered new stationary for us. I didn't even know paper was the first year anniversary gift! He was to sweet know and get stationary for me! I love it! They are the same as our wedding thank you's that said Sarah and Ryan, but these say the green's. They even came with lime green envelopes! My favorite color! Maybe he has started a tradition and we will actually give the correct year gift every year! Next year is cotton...hmmm. Amy Hannon from Sincerely Yours did the cards. Check her out here.
27 Weeks- Last week of the second trimester! Crazy!!!
How my life's changing:
I still feel like I am growing rapidly. I can feel him moving all the time and him pushing his bottom or arm or legs out so that I can feel them and then he moves them when I rub them. That makes me laugh. I feel like he likes to ball up all the time. My belly button has stretched all the way out, but doesn't stick out too much. I am craving chocolate all the time. Surprise, Surprise. Sleep has been rough the past few nights. I got crazy sunburned on my chest over the weekend, those stupid vitamins, this is made sleeping worse. Mostly, though everything is going great and I don't have any complaints. I have 6 days left of school. I am sad that I won't be starting with them in the fall, but I know I will be having the time of my life at home!
Payne's Growth:
Payne now weighs about 2 pounds and is about a foot and half long. He hasn't slowed down in the activeness!! He is sleeping and waking on a regular schedule and opening and closing his eyes as well. His lungs are still developing, but could support him if he was born now with the help of doctors and machines. I feel comforted by this.
Payne's Room:
Here is a picture of the chair! I am so freaking loving it! It is the best thing ever! I come home everyday and sit and watch tv in it!
On our trip we got a few things for the little one. I'm trying not to buy to much for him until after the showers. Very hard for me to do! My student's are so sweet! One of them brought me this outfit last week and a matching blanket! I love it! It is one of my favorite outfits he has so far! Another student brought me two outfits today, so I will take a picture of those and post it next week. Things to look forward to:
My mom is coming this weekend to see the room and spend the weekend with us. She is supposed to have the bedding and rug with her. I can't wait to see it! I have two showers planned so I am working on getting those guest list together. I am so excited to be able to hang out with all our friends in one place! Our next appointment is June 7.
We went to Florida to celebrate our one year anniversary. We left Thursday morning and got to Bonita Springs about noon. We went to eat at Pincher's Crab Shack. It was so good. We had crab cheese dip, coconut shrimp, and blacken mahi-mahi. Then we headed to the outdoor mall to shop while we waited for our room to finished being cleaned.
When we got to the hotel we got our swimsuits on and headed to the pools. My favorite by far was the lazy river! Thursday night we went to eat at Tony's Pizza and go to Target to get some food for the next few days. On the bridge after dinner
All the food we bought at Target
Friday we got up and walked around the resort to see what else was around. It was beautiful!
The front of the resort
These flowers were all over the resort Us on a our morning walk These signs were by all the ponds on the resort. I really wanted to know if there were alligators or not. Friday all day we laid by the pool and hung out in the lazy river. It was so relaxing.
Friday night we went out for a big dinner celebration. The restaurant overlooked the bay. We watched fish jump all night. They said when the water is a little higher that alligators sit on the dock. I really wish I could have seen that! We left dinner and drove around the area a little. We walked down to one of the beaches for a bit. Then we went to Marble Slab for some ice cream and to people watch.
Saturday morning we took the fairy over to the private island that the resort owned and hung out for the morning. There were seashells everywhere. I brought some back for my students to have. Then we just laid there and relaxed since there were not very many people. We headed back at lunch time, took a quick nap, and went to get massages.
Funny story of getting a massage. It took me all week to remember when people told me congrats that they were talking about the baby not the anniversary. Still I had not caught on by day 3 when the massage therapist ask how many I had had? ( Which one of the questions on the paper work you fill out was how many massages you have had in the past.) So when she ask, I answer a lot. She said how many again? I said too many to count. She thought I meant babies and I thought she meant massages. I finally got it and straighten everything out! Retard me!
After the massage we shopped and then went to dinner early. We went to a local seafood restaurant. It was really good. Saturday night we were going to play gator golf, but there was a birthday party of 35 in front of us, so we opted to go back and hang out on the balcony of the room and get packed up.
Sunday morning we checked out of the hotel and drove down to Naples for a little bit. I wanted to go to the pier to see what it was about. It was awesome. So many locals and tourist fishing off the side of the pier. Also, we watch the dolphins jump right next to the pier the whole time we were there. It was incredible the amount of sea life we saw while we were there. I love it! Looking back up the pierThe locals on the pier The dolphins jumpingRyan and I on the pier We head to the airport and came home that afternoon. Heather and Adam were so sweet to take us and pick us up from the airport, along with while in Little Rock they got our wedding cake so we could eat it on Sunday night. Thanks you all! Sunday night we ate the cake. It looks terrible, but it taste so so so good. I love frozen cake! Overall, we had a great first year anniversary! I can't tell you how much I love my husband and how great he is to me!
Guest appearance from male #1 in the Green household. Sarah and I are sitting in RSW airport Ft Myers FL waiting to come home after a fabulous 4 day weekend in Bonita Springs.
Happy First Anniversary Sweetie, it has been the greatest year of my life! Looking for many years to come. I love you!
So, I told you a few weeks ago that Ryan, my dad, step mom, and I were planning on going camping. Yes, that really meant that I was going to sleep in a tent for two days and cook my food over the fire. Ryan and I love camping, but do not get a chance to do it very often. We were so excited that we packed our car on Wednesday for our Friday trip. Thursday afternoon we realized that it was for sure going to rain or be severe thunderstorms over the weekend. So, that meant not go or make other plans. My sweet dad got us cabin in Low Gap, Arkansas so that we could still go. It was so awesome and small and I loved it! The ceilings were low so it was like being in a tent. Everyone pretended that we were really camping. We never shut the doors and no one showered all weekend! It was so relaxing and carefree! Friday night when we got there we unloaded and had ribs, baked beans, and salad for dinner. Then we played Phase 10! I won for the first time ever! It started to rain about 10 o'clock and rained all night until 9 the next morning. I was so so so so thankful for the roof over my head! Saturday we got up and had biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs for breakfast. Then Ryan, my dad, and Tracey were going to go float the Buffalo so we went to town to get Ryan a kayak. Then headed back to get lunch. Right when we finished lunch it started to rain again so they waited. Then it finally quit and they called to see how the river was and the lady told them it was to high to float. So we went to see for ourselves. TRUE STORY! The water level is based on the air space under the low water bridge in Ponca. On Friday afternoon it was 28 inches of air space. When we went to see it was -2 inches!! It rose 30 inches overnight and that day! CRAZY!
Here is the low water bridge. You can't even see under it when the day before you could. So, it was back to Jasper to return the unused kayak! Ryan was disappointed that they didn't float, but he knew it wasn't safe to do so. We drove around for a while then headed back to the cabin. On this journey I decided to make up my own song and sing it to Tracey. She laughed so hard her drink came out of her nose!!! I was so proud of my song!!! We played card games in the cabin for a while, and then headed out again. We went to see if we could find the elk. No luck but the scenery was beautiful! There is lots of other wildlife that can entertain you while you are out there as well! Breck enjoyed the ride with his dogoggles! He is more spoiled then I am or ever was! He a dang dog!!!!! Saturday night we had pot roast and veggies. We played Phase 10 again that night and needless to say, I was the LOSER! Oh well, you can't win them all!
Thanks Dad and Tracey for the great weekend! We loved it!
I know I grew a lot this past week. I think I'm getting wider. I am starting to move a lot slower and can't do the things I used to be able to do such as lift things. I am craving chocolate all the time and I was able to have my first snow cone of the season last night. It was so amazing.
Payne's growth:
Payne's ears are now developed enough that he can hear myself and others talking to one another. He still is weighing in the pound to two pound range and is about 14 inches long. He has some strong little feet and arms. He punches and kicks all day every day. He is also moving around a lot and sticking is butt out. He is still really shy about kicking for others.
Payne's Room:
The walls and trim are completely done. Next time we will hire someone to do that. I picked up the chair today, but I'm waiting for Ryan to get home and unload it. I can't wait to see it. My mom is coming next weekend to hopefully bring the bedding. The crib and dresser should be here in the middle of June. The paintings are order and I'm still waiting on those. AND that's it. He can come into the world. Whoooo.
Things to look forward to:
Starting to get shower dates nailed down. That makes me excited. I can't wait to see all the things he gets. Doctors appointment on the 7th. Last I can't wait to see his room all finished.
I can't wait to know what color hair he will have! I can't wait to know what color eyes he will have! I can't wait to see if he will have fat rolls like me when I was a baby or be like Ryan, very small! I can't wait to see what kind of personality he will have! I can't wait to find out if he is left handed like his aunt and uncle or right handed like the rest of the family! I can't wait to find out what sports he will play?! I can't wait to see how he smiles! I can't wait to hear how he laughs!
Basically, I am so ready for him to be here! I see babies all the time and just look at my belly and start to daydream about all the joys Payne will bring us!!!!
Tonight Sarah and I went out to Walker Park to watch our little buddy Henry play ball. (Henry was the ring bearer in our wedding.) Man I miss being at the ballpark - I grew up on the ball field, in camps, umping - you name it I did it. Give Payne just a few years, he will be out there dominating like Henry! Next up to bat
Henry plays for the Bruiser's - 3 for 3 at the plate, and a put out playing second. Pretty good I must say so myself. And best of all they WON (15-14 in the bottom of the third) on time limit or they would have kept putting it on the other team. About to hit the ball Smashing the ball!Gonna score a run!
Great job Henry and the Bruiser's. By the way, Henry and his brother and probably two of the best mannered little boys in NWA - Sarah and I always say we hope Payne is that well mannered - hopefully with our parenting and a few helpful hints from the boys he will be. After they won!
My emotions are under control now, so I think. I am sure Ryan is glad. I went to the doctor this morning. I had my glucose test this morning. It wasn't so bad drinking the juice, but the girl who drew my blood about killed me. It hurt so bad and it still hurts! Dr. S said everything looks great and this was the first appointment where she measured me. We were talking so I have no clue what the heart rate was or what I measured. I'm sure it was all fine since she didn't tell me. Though she did say she thought I could make it through work week at school and maybe the first day of school. We shall see! I have gained 7 pounds since I started going for appointment at 13 weeks. My next appointment I will be in my third trimester! Crazy!!
Payne’s adventures:
We are going camping this weekend. We shall see how Payne likes the outdoors!
Payne’s development:
He is still growing and is about a pound and a half. He is starting to fill out and get some fat on him. His skin is starting so smooth out and not be so wrinkled. He is also getting hair. They say if you could see him, I could tell what color hair he would have. He is still a very active little boy! He kicks all the time! Though he is still kind of shy for kicking for other people.
Payne’s Room:
Nothing has changed with his room. It's still there. We did get a tv/dvd combo for his room this weekend. I know you think I am crazy for having a tv in there.
Things to look forward too:
Almost to the end of my 2nd trimester. I can't wait to hold him. That is what I have thought about most this week. I have daydreamed what I would be doing with him. I am so ready for him to be here!!! I am also ready to go to the beach next week. We are going to have some time to relax!
My emotions have been running wild! I have cried more in the last week over nothing than any other week.Payne is kicking all the time. I can’t sit for very long without him kicking until I get up. So I do a lot of standing or laying down. No food sounds good anymore. I am not sure what to do about that. I try not to think about food until right when I am going to eat.
Payne’s adventures:
We have now traveled to Oklahoma and Texas. We will also get in Florida before the end of the month. Before he is born he should have been to 9 different states! Holy cow, we travel a lot!!!
Payne’s development:
Since last week Payne had gained about 4 ounces. That is quite a bit in a week. So, he weighs about a pound and half.He is about a 12-14 inches long. His little body is starting to plump up and his brain to developing rapidly! I wish could see what he looks like. I only have a month left of the 2nd trimester!
Payne’s Room:
It’s painted, but still needs some touch ups.I hope to get to that this weekend.
We have now got the closet cleaned out and ready for his things. I can’t wait until it is full of baby things and I can open it and just look at it.We got some picture frames for the wall over the weekend at IKEA. I want to hang them above the glider. We plan to put pictures of our family in there so he can see their pictures everyday. Here is kind of what I am thinking.
I still need to order the canvas for one of the walls. I hope to get that done this week as well.We are still working on getting the crib and dresser ordered. Hopefully, that will be done before the end of the week. The bedding should be here this week! I so can’t wait to see that!
Things to look forward to:
I have appointment Monday morning. I am going by myself since Ryan is playing in golf tournament.I am supposed to have the blood sugar test. I have been told to get the orange flavored drink. Jennifer says it taste like flat orange soda. So, we will see. Also, I have to drink it in 5 minutes. That makes me nervous.
This is my last full teaching week of school. Kind of sounds crazy to me. May is a busy month at school. We have two field trips, I am off a few days for appointments and traveling, we have conferences, field day, and class parties! Then it will all be over! I can’t believe that I have made it through a whole year!
Well, we finished the race and came in 62 out of 115!The official results were posted today! Not to bad if you ask me!
The plan was to go to IKEA after the race before headed to Denton, Tx to see my family. That got rethought really fast after we finished the race and I was exhausted! So, we headed straight to the house. We showered and got ready to go to dinner. My oldest cousin Clayton left for Spain today and won't be back until November!! I was excited to get to see everyone since I hadn't seen them since Thanksgiving. We went to eat at a BBQ place that was so good! Then we had cake. It was in the shape of Spain! How cool!
That night we went back home to crash! IKEA shopping was early the next day!!!!
I freaking LOVE IKEA!!! It is a place that take about 4-5 hours to do it right! We didn't have that kind of time so we walked fast and only looked at the things on our list! We wanted picture frames, a mirror, shelves, storage box, a light, and a dresser. We manage to get the picture frames and the dresser. We also found some hardware for the bathroom cabinets and a little storage thing for the babies room. After two hours and my leg and feet hurting again we headed home to Fayetteville!
6 hours later we arrived home, but our adventures don't end there! Ryan cleaned the lawn mower so he could take it to the old house to mow Rae-Marie's yard. He must have thought a lot while he was doing that. He decided that we should go to the laundry mat and wash Lucy's blankets for the season. So, well, we went to Tim's to get the new lawn mower, brought it back to the house dropped it off, took the old mower to RM's, and then headed to the laundry mat.
We threw the laundry in and head to get dinner at Quizno's (because I have wanted it since umm Friday and hadn't gotten it). We decided to go to the one on the U of A campus. Ryan dropped me off to get the food and he went to throw away the boxes from the dresser. No luck with food they were close and it was only 8:30! Ugh! So it was back to the laundry mat to pick up the blankets. Since it was already 8:45 we just brought the blankets home to dry. On the way home I asked Ryan why we had to go to the laundry mat tonight! Why when we had done so much stuff this weekend were we stilling out doing things. Yet, I wanted to put the dresser together when we got home. So, we began at 9. About 9:25 we realized that we were missing the back of the dresser!!! Well, that meant DUMPSTER DIVING! That's right we grabbed the flashlights and head back the U of A to the dumpster! We got it out and headed back home! I was so irritated at this point, but I was still going to put that dresser together and put it in the room!! End of story! We finally finished and got it in there about 11.
So all in all we kept adventuring until 11 last night!
We are about to head to Josh and Jennifer's baby revel party! I can't wait!!!! I think it's a girl! We'll see!
