Today we took Payne back to the doctor for the fourth time since he was born. We have gone every week because he wasn't back to his birth weight. Today he weighed 7lbs 14 oz which is way down from last week when he weighed 8lbs 2 oz. I knew the doctor wasn't going to be happy with the drop, but I never thought she was going to say what she did. They told us they were going to have to admit him to the hospital and keep him until his weight was back up. You can probably only image what emotional me did! I lost it and started balling crying. She then decided to consult with some other doctors and see what they thought. The conclusion for the time being is to add a half a scoop of formula to his bottle of breast milk. This still didn't make it much better, but at least I knew I was getting to go home with my baby. So, for the next week he will just be having bottles of breast milk with formula mixed in.
So now we need prayers that he will start to gain weight again.
We go back next week, on Wednesday to see if he has gained weight. If not we will be headed to the hospital.
Also, pray for Ryan and I we didn't take the news so well. We both are really worried.
Another prayers needed are for Lauren, Jillian and Elizabeth. Check out the blogs below.

Sweet little Payne! We are of course praying!!! Did you tell the doctor that you and Ryan are not "big" people and you had a "big" baby....maybe he is just becoming his regular size! Either way-we are praying for him to gain some weight!!! Trust in the Lord--He will take care of your family!
I'm praying special prayers for you three today. You just brought back memories of Peyton being readmitted to the hospital after she was born, I absolutely know how you are feeling. You can email or call me if you need to talk. Payne is such a sweetie and he is in good hands - both his mommy and daddy's and God's.
Your sweet little boy is in my prayers!
I called Whit to tell her. She said she called and talked to Ryan. I know you are still in shock right now, but things WILL be ok! And I'm totally serious, if you need to talk Whit can give you my number. And of course, don't hesitate to call Whit for anything! I know every situation is different, but I've been in a similar situation before. And I'll continue to lift you all up in prayer. :)
The same thing happened to my baby last year. We had to go for weight checks every other day and add in formula to his bottles, too. He didn't get back to birth weight until he was five weeks old. I was so scared, but he was otherwise healthy and is now a chubby toddler! I'll keep your family in my prayers!!
I'm SO sorry to hear this. Hopefully the formula will really help in the meantime. Praying for you guys!! :)
You might want to consult a lactation consultant or go to a breastfeeding support group. Doing bottles only, won't stimulate supply unfortunately. Often the key to weight gain would be to nurse as often as possible and then you would pump as much as possible to build up your supply. You can supplement his feeds with bottles of formula/pumped breastmilk. Mother's milk tea, oatmeal, lots of water, and fenugreek also help with supply. Check out kelly.mom as great web source for nursing. Goodluck, I am sure he will be fine.
